Neil Gresham, Training & coaching profile

Neil Gresham is widely regarded as one of the world's leading climbing coaches. He has been coaching and writing training articles for over 20 years and has also climbed 8c sport and E10 trad. Neil is the current training columnist for Climb magazine and Rock & Ice in the USA.
He was the first British coach to run coaching holidays and a personalised training programme service. He was also the first in the world to produce dedicated technique and training DVDs: the infamous 'Masterclass series' Parts 1 & 2.
Neil has helped climbers of all levels and ages to improve their standard both in the UK and overseas. He has worked with the British Competition team and with many of Britain's best climbers such as John Dunne, Leah Crane, Gaz Parry and James Pearson.

'There is no doubt that in the UK, Neil is by far the most well known and respected rock climbing coach, with his reputation spreading across the borders and into Europe and America. He is the voice of all the UK coaches and the person we all look to for advice in developing our own coaching services.'

Szymon Dziukiewicz coaching profile

Szymon Dziuekiewicz has been a regular training partner of Neil's since he moved to London in 2003. He made rapid improvements during the early stages of his climbing, reaching 7a+ onsight and 7c+ redpoint within 16 months, as a result of his hard work ethic and no-nonsense approach to training. He has climbed many sport routes in the F8s, all over Europe and has redpointed 8b+ in Poland (which probably means 8c anywhere else!) Szymon specializes in helping his clients to carry out hard but safe physical training sessions to gain the necessary strength and endurance for harder, steeper routes.

Surely we are all occasionally prone to being a little too soft on ourselves when it comes to training, but Szymon won't allow any of that! He compliments Neil's approach by showing you that pushing hard will produce results, and he is the ideal coach for anyone who is looking to adopt a more disciplined and focused approach.

Szymon is available for one to one sessions in Southern Scotland and Northern England, please see his coaching profile page over at the Masterclass Coaching Academy website, or our one to one coaching page on this site for more details.

Praise for Szymon's coaching

Szymon proved a huge help developing Stan from a good climber to extremely good climber. His attention to technical details was a particular strong point and was very quickly apparent in Stan's climbing. Ultimately, Szymon played a key role in Stan being selected for team GB. - Rob Harris (Stan's father).

Our last session was excellent and I think I have improved significantly over the last few months. Thanks for all your help, I would recommend you highly. - Jon

'News flash, your training and ideas worked, I got "Empire of the Sun" 7b at Ansteys Cove, so happy. Thanks a ton for your sessions and your advice, it worked perfectly.'
- Jamie

'Thanks again for our session yesterday I can't believe how much I learnt about my climbing in just a couple of hours. Really appreciate you fitting me in on such short notice.
It really was a great session! '
- Ross

'Szymon is a nice guy and very knowledgeable. I had a good session with him, he covered a lot and gave me lots of very good (and wise) advice. I have been feeling like I needed some help for a while so it is great to get started.
Thanks very much.'
